We Have Something the Competition Doesn’t

Having an in-house fabrication shop differentiates us from our competition. Simply put, it cuts down on labor costs on the job since we can do it in-house. Additionally, it minimizes inconvenience to the customer and maximizes quality control.

Our 18,000-square-foot facility is located across the street from our main office and allows us to fabricate and assemble process piping and fire protection piping and sprinkler head assemblies. When we fabricate our own fittings and reducers in the shop, our costs decrease—this results in savings which we pass along to the customer. We pair that with our design-build services to dramatically reduce project costs.

The shop is set up to handle both welding and fire protection fabrication. On the welding side, a lot of what we do is HVAC-related or is chilled water, hot water, or steam piping. We fabricate as many components as we can in the shop. And some of them are complicated assemblies. We also maintain an R-stamp and an S-stamp, which means we can fabricate, repair and alter boilers, pressure vessels, and other pressure-retaining items. We keep our welders qualified, so that when they do perform welding, both in-house and in the field, the welding is up to speed—is up to snuff. We perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding in-house.

We can thread pipe. We have a sprinkler piping jig where we can fabricate an entire sprinkler system. In our shop, we have a stock room, so if guys call in, we have some stock on hand. So, we don’t have to run to a supply house in case of emergency calls. We have an area that is a code room for welding that’s clean, mainly for our stainless and purity piping and any code welding that needs to be done. We can handle any size pipe from ¾” to 20”.

Our fire protection sprinkler assemblies are manufactured here, saving us time and money.

Our shop foreman, Doug, will review the blueprints, produce cut sheets for each section of the system, and visit the jobsite to determine exactly where they will be installed. Once the pipe arrives to our shop, our team cuts the needed sections, grooves them, and drills the outlets for sprinkler heads. The sections will be bundled and numbered, and the blueprints will be labeled, so installation is a very straightforward and efficient process. Our system takes the guesswork out of installation for our foreman and technicians on the jobsite.

The fabrication shop is fully-equipped, so our team can more easily maintain our safety standards versus assembling and welding systems on-site.

Inclement weather or freezing temperatures no longer affect our installation or repair schedules. We have utilized a mobile trailer to handle those jobs that require on-site assembly, but the shop’s large open areas better facilitate our own fabrication.

Another benefit is, our in-house welding capabilities prevent us from needing to obtain a permit and hire a firefighter to supervise hot work on the jobsite. This reduces overall labor costs and the time required to submit welding permits.
